The principle function of the Tax Collection Office is the billing and collection of all property taxes for the State of Maryland and Garrett County. In addition, we also serve as the collection point for several other County Government revenues.

These revenues include:
Billing & Collection of Accommodation Taxes
Collection of Trailer Park Taxes
Collection of Coal Tonnage Taxes
Landfill Bond Tax
Ad Valorem Taxes
Garrett County Sanitary District (Water & Sewer)
Garrett County Animal Licenses
Bay Restoration Fee

 

Garrett County has partnered with Official Payments Corporation (OPC) to facilitate automated payments online and by telephone for real property taxes, personal property taxes and Sanitary District Charges (Water & Sewer). OPC will assess a convenience fee each time you use the service. Garrett County receives no money from this convenience fee. When making payments by telephone, use jurisdiction code 3014.
