Keep clean & dry. Leave loose. Remove covers.

Bulk mail, plastic or paper bags, magazines,glossy inserts, or twine.

Envelopes, copy/fax paper, colored paper, computer paper, legal paper, carbonless paper, file cards, manila folders, adding machine tape.

CARDBOARD

Corrugated cardboard boxes. Remove any packaging and flatten boxes.  Tape & Staples are OK.

No waxed cardboard, cereal boxes, shoe or shirt boxes, or thin yellow Asian cardboard.

GLASS BOTTLES
AND JARS

Empty & rinse. Remove lids and rings. Separate by color (clear, brown and green). Leave labels.

Ceramics, mirrors, crystal, window pane, light bulbs, dishes, milk, or auto glass.

Empty & rinse. Collect separately. Crush. Leave labels.

Aerosol, paint, oil, or other hazardous material cans.

#1 PET PLASTIC BOTTLES

Clear, narrow neck soda and some water bottles. Remove caps.

No opaque bottles.

BOTTLES & JUGS

Milk, bleach, detergent and some water bottles. Rinse. Remove lids and throw away. Crush.

Car, truck, equipment tires with or without wheels.

MOTOR OIL& ANTIFREEZE

Pour oil or antifreeze (separately) into a clean, plastic container with a tight fitting lid. DO NOT MIX.

Do not mix oil or antifreeze with any other fluids. Do not pour down drain or onto the ground.

Keep Clean & Dry.  Shiny & slick magazines, brochures, catalogs, coupons, etc.

Office Paper, carbon paper, paper bags, or cardboard.

1 - Kings Run / Mt Nebo Site - 1/4 mile east of Rt. 219 on King's Run Road

2 - Weber Road Crossing Site - 1 mile south of Oakland off Rt. 219

3 - Backbone Mountain Site - MD Rt 135, ½ mile west of Swanton Hill Road

4 - Bumble Bee Road Site - Bumble Bee Road 1 mile east of Garrett Community College

5 - Friendsville Site - MD Rt. 42, 3/4 miles northwest of Friendsville

6 - Grantsville Site - U.S. Rt. 40, 1/4 mile east of Chestnut Ridge Road

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Sunday Noon - 6:00 p.m.

Closed for New Year's Day, Easter Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Closed at 2:00 PM Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Landfill - Garrett County Office of Solid Waste & Recycling

- On Oakland Sang Run Road - 3.5 miles north of Oakland or 1.9 miles south of Bray School Road

Hours of Operation

Monday - Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Main Cell closes @ 3:00 p.m.

Closed Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Closed at 2:00 PM Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
