Patrol Unit
STAFFING
The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office has 30 sworn Officers on staff, which includes the Sheriff, Chief Deputy,
1 Captain, 1 Lieutenant, 3 Sergeants, 4 Corporal’s and 19 Deputies. The Office staff consists of an Administrative Coordinator and an Office Coordinator with the Garrett Bureau of Investigation.
PATROL
There are 15 active road patrol units, which consists of 1 Lieutenant, 3 Corporal’s and 10 Deputies. (Includes K9 unit) The area served includes a population of over 30,000 with a total of over 650 square miles of coverage.
COURT PROCESS SERVICE
The Sheriff’s Office serves both court systems in Garrett County by serving various types of court processes generated by both the District Court and Circuit Court of Garrett County. The types of processes include both criminal and civil. Types of process served includes, arrest warrants, bench warrants, body attachments, criminal summons, peace orders, protective orders, summons, subpoenas, levies, garnishments, wage attachments, evictions, postings, etc.

COMMUNITY POLICING
