Municipal Clean-up Days
The Board of Garrett County Commissioners announce its partnership with local municipalities for spring clean-up days. Garrett County’s incorporated towns will be able to assist residents with the clean-up and disposal of bulky items from alley ways, yards, and homes. The towns will be able to deliver collected items by the truck or trailer load to the Garrett County Landfill without a fee.
The dates will be set by each individual town and then scheduled with Kimberly Madigan, Recycling Coordinator, Garrett County Solid Waste & Recycling. The Garrett County Department of Solid Waste & Recycling will also consider and approve, on a case by case basis, any additional requests from community groups or organizations that wish to clean-up areas along roadways, streams, and public lands where refuse has been illegally dumped. Clean up of private property is not eligible under this program.
County leaders are working together to provide this opportunity to improve the environment where we live. Residents desiring to participate should contact their local leaders for dates, instructions, and a list of permitted items or they can contact Kimberly Madigan at the Garrett County Office of Solid Waste and Recycling at 301-387-0322 or kmadigan@garrettcounty.org.
