The Maryland Department of Planning (MDP) has announced the beginning of their outreach effort for the State Development Plan, which they are calling A Better Maryland. Their outreach efforts will involve a series of Listening Sessions in all 23 counties and Baltimore City, and those Listening Sessions will begin in Garrett County on Monday, November 6, 2017. The purpose of the Listening Sessions is to engage and connect with the public, local governments, state agencies and other stakeholders across Maryland and solicit their feedback on what should be included in a State Development Plan and how it can help state agencies and local governments plan A Better Maryland.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the public meeting which will be held at 6:00 PM in the Garrett College Auditorium, 687 Mosser Rd, McHenry. At the meeting participants will engage with each other and with Planning staff on how A Better Maryland can best advance local needs and contribute to collaborative planning across the state.
