The Garrett County Emergency Operations Center level of activation has been lowered to monitoring status. Potomac Edison has verified that as of 3:15 pm today the Mt Zion Substation was restored and is picking up customer load. All customers have been restored to utility service. There are no power outages reported in Garrett County. At this time conditions will continue be monitored by staff, however no operational activities are warranted. Per Potomac Edison, if a power outage occurs as a result of severe weather, customers should call 1-888-LIGHTS (1-888-544-4877) to report their outage. Customers should report downed power wires to their utility or their local police and fire department. Never go near a downed power line. In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
