Power Outage to Repair GT Subtransmission Line Pole Structure Scheduled for Wednesday From 8 am to 11 am

Potomac Edison is notifying all customers in the central part of Garrett County of a scheduled power outage occurring Wednesday, January 16th from 8 am to 11 am. The following is a statement from John R. Emerick, Manager of External Affairs for Potomac Edison.

Customers are being notified by phone about the outage.  There are approximately 3220 customer affected by the 3 hour outage on Wednesday.The northern border of the outage is the Rt. 219 Bridge/Rock Lodge area south to Kings Run Road. Areas affected to the east from Rt. 219 include Rock Lodge, State Park, Foy Road, Glendale Road, and  Rt. 495 north to Lower New Germany Road and south Rt. 495 to Kurts Corner. The areas affected to the west of the Rt. 219 Bridge include Lake Shore Drive, parts of Mayhew Inn Road, Bray School Road and Oakland Sang Run Road to and including the State Parks.

Additionally, 850 customers in the area surrounding the area outlined above will be affected by 1 or more short duration outages of 5 minutes or less between 8 am and 3 pm on Wednesday as crews complete
repairs and perform switching operations.

The McHenry, WISP Resort, Garrett College and area to the north will not be affected by the outage on Wednesday, nor will the Oakland area south of Kings Run Road.
