PUBLIC FORUM – FLOODPLAIN MAPPING & REGULATIONS
Garrett County, with the assistance of FEMA and the Md. Dept. of Environment, will be holding a public outreach forum on September 26, 2012 in the County Commissioners Meeting Room, Room 209, 203 S. Fourth Street, Courthouse, Oakland, Md. from 2:00pm to 6:00pm to provide residents and interested citizens with an opportunity to review the maps and answer any questions concerning the new flood mapping and regulations. Additionally, local government staff are currently available to assist residents one-on-one and provide information at the Permits and Inspections Office, 2008 Maryland Highway Suite 3, Mountain Lake Park, Maryland (301-334-7470) Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. You may also stay up-to-date and look up this property on the new map by visiting www.mdfloodmaps.com (see Flood Risk Application on right side of web page).
This flood map modernization project is a joint effort between Garrett County, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Maryland Department of Environment, in cooperation with association and private sector partners.
