Volunteers Needed for Zoning Signage Committee
Group to Advise Changes to Sign Chapter of the Deep Creek Watershed Zoning Ordinance
October 15, 2018, Oakland, MD – The Garrett County Planning Commission is issuing a call for volunteers to serve on the Deep Creek Watershed Signage Committee. Per Maryland state guidelines, the Committee would be tasked with advising the Planning Commission on recommended changes to the sign chapter of the Deep Creek Watershed Zoning Ordinance.
The Committee will consist of seven (7) members and the Planning Commission is looking to ensure fair representation from businesses, real estate brokerages and property owners. The group is anticipated to meet twice a month beginning in December 2018 and complete the task by April 2019.

Letters sent via the post office can be mailed to 203 S Fourth St, Rm 208, Oakland MD 21550. All letters must be received by November 1st.

About Garrett County Government: The Garrett County Planning Commission is composed of nine members appointed by the Garrett County Commissioners. The Planning Commission ensures that the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan are carried out by serving in an advisory role in the development and implementation of all County land use ordinances, regulations and policies. The Planning Commission also provides advisory opinions concerning the Deep Creek Watershed Zoning Ordinance and, along with Planning & Land Management staff, administers the Garrett County Subdivision Ordinance by reviewing all major subdivision applications and waiver requests.
