The Garrett County Roads Division announces the public that Industrial Park Drive, at the Accident Industrial Business Park, will be temporarily closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018, for the purpose of culvert replacement. The temporary closure is estimated for two days, and will reopen once the project scope is entirely completed. During the temporary closure, there will be no access to the properties or businesses.
EMERGENCY CONTINGENCY PLAN during Temporary Road Closure – Industrial Park Drive
Please be advised that the following emergency action plan will be instituted during the temporary closure of Industrial Park Drive, at the Accident Industrial Business Park, as planned for the dates of Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19, 2018, for the purpose of culvert replacement.
In the event of an emergency, Garrett Central Alarm will be contacted. Garrett Central will in turn contact Allen Fike, Accident Road/Bridge Foreman, who will be supervising the project. In the event there is a requirement for emergency vehicle access, there will be a six to seven man crew on site daily, with four single axle and one triaxle truck loaded with material to fill in the opening area. Road plating consisting of 5’ x 10’ x 1” plating will be on site during the project. A temporary section of pipe will be installed in the opening to assist with water flow. The work crew has been instructed to react immediately should there be an emergency situation arise at the Industrial Park area. The Accident Volunteer Fire Department chief has been contacted regarding the emergency plan of action, and is satisfied with the plan as proposed.
