The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office has 29 sworn Officers on staff, which includes the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, 2 Captains, 3 Lieutenants, 3 Sergeants, 2 Corporal’s and 17 Deputies. (This includes K9 units, Drug Task Force, School Resource Officers, Community Service and Court Security)
There are 14 active road patrol units, which consists of 2 Lieutenants, 2 Sergeants, and 10 Deputies.
The area served includes a population of 30,000 with a total of over 650 square miles of coverage
Court Process Service
The Sheriff’s Office serves both court systems in Garrett County by serving various types of court processes generated by both the District Court and Circuit Court of Garrett County. The types of processes include both criminal and civil. Types of process served includes, arrest warrants, bench warrants, body attachments, criminal summons, peace orders, protective orders, summons, subpoenas, levies, garnishments, wage attachments, evictions, postings, etc.
