Where Can I Get a Free Chromebook?

Visit one of the Ruth Enlow Library branches during open hours - check the list of items to bring with you below. 

What are the income guidelines? 

The adjusted gross income of the household must be at or below the levels listed below:

What Do I Need to Bring?

You must complete a simple application form - you can get a paper copy at the library or you can download the Document Garrett County chromebook program application (398.47 KB) to print and bring with you to one of the libraries during regular open hours.

You must also bring documents to:

  1. Verify your identity (Drivers license or other government ID)
  2. Confirm your place of residence (drivers license or utility bill with your name and current address)
  3. Show your income qualifies your household for the program (bring one of these):
  • SNAP/EBT Card (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as Food Stamps)
  • Proof of enrollment in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) with your internet provider
  • Medicaid
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
  • Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year
  • 2022 (or 2023) Federal Tax Return or Maryland State Tax Return
  • Garrett Co. Community Action Energy Assistance
