Educational Advisory Committee

Purpose

The Agencies represented by the Administrative Council recognize the importance of advisory input from citizens regarding opportunities to improve communication through public education, information exchange, and citizen engagement. The Council will seek advisory input from an Educational Advisory Committee on all issues concerning public education and citizen engagement.

Formation

The Administrative Council will publicly solicit volunteers, on a biennial basis, from stakeholders within the Deep Creek Watershed.  The Council will specifically encourage a balanced group of 8-10 volunteers representing agriculture, business, education, forestry, marketing, recreation, and property owners within the watershed.  Regular meetings of the Educational Advisory Committee will be facilitated by the watershed coordinator.

Function

The Administrative Council will specifically request a continuous evaluation of transparency and advisement regarding outreach planning within the watershed.  The Educational Advisory Committee will discuss the community’s communication and outreach needs and present any issues identified to the regulatory agencies via the Administrative Council.
